WEEKEND ON THE DANISH COUNTRYSIDE
Last weekend, I had the delightful opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and retreat into the serene embrace of nature. My friend Karoline invited me to her charming summerhouse in Rørvig, Denmark, for a much-needed getaway. The prospect of spending a few days away from the noise and rush of urban life was incredibly appealing.
Rørvig is a picturesque village nestled by the sea, known for its tranquil atmosphere and stunning natural beauty. As we drove into the village, the landscape transformed into a tapestry of lush forests and rolling fields. Karoline’s summerhouse, a quaint and cozy cottage surrounded by trees, felt like a perfect sanctuary.
The weather during our stay was mostly rainy, which I absolutely love. The fresh, crisp air, combined with the soothing sound of raindrops tapping against the leaves, created a magical ambiance. We hiked along winding trails, with the forest exuding a rich, earthy scent intensified by the rain. The peacefulness of the woods was a stark contrast to the city's constant clamor, and I found myself reveling in the quietude.
In the evenings, we cozied up inside the summerhouse, its warm, inviting glow contrasting beautifully with the gray skies outside. We lit candles and lamps, filling the rooms with a soft, comforting light. Sitting by the window, we watched the rain pour down, creating intricate patterns on the glass. The simple pleasure of being indoors, safe and warm, while nature carried on its timeless dance outside, was profoundly calming.
We also took a trip to the harbor close by, which was an absolute delight. Walking around the harbor, we admired the quaint boats bobbing gently on the water and the charming waterfront shops. The scent of the sea mixed with the fresh rain created an invigorating atmosphere. The harbor was alive with a quiet, timeless energy, and it was wonderful to soak in the maritime charm of the area.
tWO WEEKS IN BALI
My best friend Karl and I decided to end our trip to Australia with two weeks in Bali, one of my favorite places. I fell in love with Bali last year when I spent a month there. The beautiful beaches, vibrant culture, and friendly people made a lasting impression on me. So thankful to be back.
tWO WEEKS IN NEW ZEALAND
My three best friends and I decided to take a road trip through the South Island of New Zealand, and wow, this place has some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen. To capture this incredible journey on camera and share it with people back home is a dream come true. Driving through these incredible landscapes and walking up these majestic mountains is an experience I'm deeply thankful for. Doing this with some of my favorite people makes it even more special. So so grateful.
We started out in Christchurch, where we were greeted by the crisp, fresh air. I already felt at home.
I saw landscapes I had never seen before, where dry land meets the cold ocean.
I also saw landscapes that felt very familiar. Driving by the ocean on rocky roads through forests felt just like home—a warm hug.
My favorite color was everywhere, and it made me smile. It almost felt greener than green.
